Information for Windemere residents moving to Hillsborough County Water

The acquisition of Windemere Utility Company is scheduled to close on June 7, 2024. Hillsborough County Water Resources would like to officially welcome you as a new customer. Water Resources will have staff in your neighborhood assessing the utility infrastructure to prioritize necessary improvements to the Windemere system. As a customer, you will see increased reliability, improved water quality, and a transition to the County’s water and wastewater system.

When will I become a Hillsborough County customer?

The acquisition between Windemere and Hillsborough County is scheduled to close on June 7, 2024. Once all documents have been signed you will officially be a Hillsborough County Water Resources customer.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

No, Hillsborough County will not be requiring Windemere customers to pay a deposit.

What will my new rates be?

Hillsborough County rates for Windemere customers will be phased in over a 5-year period. Below is a chart with the proposed rates, once approved the rates will be officially communicated. The chart below represents Residential Water Customers at 6,000 gallons per month.

When will my meter be read?

Your meter is scheduled to be read between the 24th- 28th of each month.

When will I receive my bill and when will it be due?

Your bill should be emailed or mailed to you during the first week of each month, and payment is due 21 days from issuance.

How can I pay my bill?

Hillsborough County Water Resources have multiple methods and options in which the bill could be paid. There is a customer payment center located at 332 N. Falkenburg Rd. Tampa, FL, ; online through the www.hcfl.gov website, click on Water icon or use the QR Code below.

Who do I call if I have questions about my bill or service?

Our Customer Call Center’s number is (813) 307-1000, our hours of operation are (8AM – 5PM M-F).

Will I be expected to pay for a new meter?

No, if Hillsborough County replaces a meter due to age or for a non-working meter there is no charge to the customer.

Will fire hydrants be inspected?

Yes, Hillsborough County will inspect all fire hydrants to ensure proper operation and available flow.
