Search for water bodies

Visit our Water Atlas site to search for lakes, streams, and other bodies of water throughout the county. You can search by the water body’s name or by address. The Water Atlas provides information on the health of the water body, photos, and other documents.

Lake management program

If you live on a lake in unincorporated Hillsborough County, you can join the Lake Management Program. We designed the program to help you develop adaptive management strategies to keep lakes healthy and useful.

Adopt-A-Pond

Improve the water quality, wildlife habitat and appearance of stormwater ponds by applying to adopt a pond. Find information and resources to help make and keep your pond beautiful.

Storm drain marking program

Use our colorful markers to add a pollution prevention message to your neighborhood storm drains. Kit includes markers, adhesive, and door hangers to tell people more. To request a storm drain marking kit, please visit our Hillsborough County Water Atlas.

Report water pollution

You also can use the Water Atlas to report suspected illegal dumping or discharges into:

  • Lakes
  • Streams
  • Rivers
  • Canals
  • Ditches
  • Stormwater ponds
  • Manholes
  • Storm drains
  • Curb inlet in the street

You may also report other environmental issues such as algal blooms and fish kills.
