Maintaining a well-balanced diet can fuel your body and power your mind!

It’s no secret that eating healthy can make you feel better physically, but did you know a proper diet can also impact brain health?

According to the American Society for Nutrition (ASN), a growing number of studies point to the mental health benefits of a healthy diet.

Recent studies show that a healthy diet provides more vitamins and minerals, healthy fats, and fiber from fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds, which can reduce inflammation and alter neurotransmitters to reduce symptoms of depression.

While it’s never too late to improve your diet, it’s important to start sooner rather than later. According to the Cleveland Clinic, as we age, circumstances and lifestyle can lead to neglecting healthy eating habits.

A healthy diet can play a big role in your overall health, including your:

  • Brain and memory function
  • Heart health
  • Bone strength
  • Muscle tone
  • Immunity
  • Gastrointestinal functioning
  • Mental health and well-being
