Waste facilities to dispose of non-collectible items by residential customers

We currently have five Community Collection Centers (CCC) to serve residential customers who need to get rid of waste such as batteries, paint, electronics, bulky items and appliances, tires, recycling, and household hazardous waste (HHW).

Please note, not all locations offer HHW and the locations that do are limited to certain Saturdays throughout the month from 8 AM to 2 PM. See more about discarding HHW.

Self-hauling limits

Residential customers receive 10 cubic yards of disposal for bulky waste and appliances to CCC's per year, as part of their annual assessment.

This is equivalent to the material that can be put into a vehicle pulling a double-axle trailer or a loaded box/straight truck. A loaded pickup truck generally only carries about 2 cubic yards.

Once the 10 cubic yard limit per year has been reached, residential customers will be required to deliver their solid waste material to one of the County’s Solid Waste Transfer Stations and pay standard commercial disposal charges, or wait until the next annual assessment when the 10 cubic yards of disposal resets on Oct. 1.

Residential customers can ask the facility attendants in person or call the Solid Waste Customer Service Team at (813) 272-5680 to learn how many cubic yards of free disposal they have left.
