Plan a low-waste event

A low-waste event aims to reduce waste sent to the landfill by reusing materials, composting, and recycling. Use the Low-Waste Event Guide to help plan your next event with less waste or, ideally, none at all. 

Request the recycling team for outreach opportunities

Learn about Hillsborough County’s recycling rules and why it’s important to create less waste by requesting an in-person presentation for your group, or for the Recycling Team to attend your event.

Resources for 3rd through 12th grade

Art contest (3rd-12th grade)

Students are encouraged to express their creativity and desire to protect and preserve the environment by participating in the annual Waste Reduction & Recycling Art Contest. Each year, students can create an original piece of artwork inspired by the annual theme and submit it for judging.
