What to expect after a roll cart service request
Confirmation
- Paying online: An email address is required to receive confirmation, receipt, and status updates.
- Paying by phone: Providing a phone number is optional but recommended to receive order confirmation and updates via text.
Cart set-out requirements
- Cart should be empty, or no more than half full when possible, during cart swaps, repairs, or replacements.
- Cart must remain at the curb until the request is completed. Place cart at the curb for possible next-day service.
- Homeowners Associations (HOA): If a community restricts cart placement at the curb, forward and/or tape the emailed confirmation on your cart to let the HOA know the timeline for cart repair/replacement. Ensure the roll cart is visible from the street.
- Compliance: Failure to follow cart set‑out requirements may result in delays or cancellation of request.
Things to consider
- Cart swap requests should not be used to replace damaged roll carts. Cart swap purchases made in error will lead to an extended service and refund delay.
- Roll cart requirements
- Customers are required to have one County-issued gray garbage roll cart.
- Customers can place up to two garbage and two recycling roll carts at the curb for collection.
- Roll carts are only removed when a damaged roll cart is being replaced. If the cart does not meet this criteria or was not at the curb to be removed during the roll cart replacement order:
- Keep the old cart
- Repurpose the cart for personal use (e.g., storage or yard tools)
- Drop the cart off at one of the following Community Collection Centers (this action will not count against your disposal points)
- Hillsborough Heights Solid Waste Facility - 6209 County Road 579, Seffner, FL 33584
- Northwest County Solid Waste Facility - 8001 W. Linebaugh Ave., Tampa, FL 33625
- South County Solid Waste Facility - 13000 U.S. Hwy. 41, Gibsonton, FL 33534
- Gated communities: Contact customer service below to provide gate code to ensure access to the property and avoid service delays.
