How to apply for a tanker truck meter as a temporary water source for construction purposes only
Backflow device
Prior to the meter installation, a backflow device is required to be installed and must meet county requirements.
Application fees
Required prior to use of utility services

- $650 deposit
- $170 meter installation/removal
- $25 setup charge
- Any actual costs for corrective or enforcement actions related to your tanker meter application will be billed to your account.
If the meter is missing or stolen, the applicant is responsible for the $620 missing meter fee plus estimated use.
Water rates and fees
You will receive a monthly bill for potable water consumption. Please visit current rate and fees and temporary metered services charges (established in the Utility Rate Resolution, Section 4.1) for a breakdown of the charges.
Each month, take a clear photo of the tanker meter lid showing the imprinted meter number, and a second photo of the meter reading (dials). Email both photos 3-5 business days before the last business day of the month to wrs-billing@hcfl.gov with your account number and company name.
Failure to submit monthly readings will result in estimated billing and a $30 service charge.

- Subject of email: Tanker truck request
- Contact information: daytime contact name and telephone number
- Include in the body of the email: Name of project and service request number, if applicable
