Small Business Assistance and Disaster Loans
Residents, small businesses, and private nonprofits impacted by June 25, 2025, storms
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering low-interest disaster loans to help residents, small businesses, and private nonprofits in Hillsborough County recover from the June 25 storms and tornadoes.
Eligibility
- Homeowners: Up to $500,000 for primary residence repairs and up to $100,000 for personal property (e.g., cars, appliances, furniture)
- Renters: Up to $100,000 for damaged personal property
- Small businesses and nonprofits: Up to $2 million for physical damage or economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs)
Mitigation Funding: Loans may be increased by up to 20% for storm-hardening improvements like storm shelters, wind-rated doors, or roof upgrades.
Rates & terms
- Interest rates starting at 2.813% for homeowners and renters, 4% for small businesses, and 3.625% for nonprofits
- Repayment begins 12 months after first disbursement, with terms up to 30 years

Residents, small businesses, and private nonprofits impacted by Hurricanes Helene or Milton
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will accept disaster loan applications up to 60 days after the filing deadline (which was April 27, 2025, for physical damage and July 11, 2025, for economic injury). Apply online using the MySBA Portal at lending.sba.gov.
The SBA may accept applications received more than 60 days after the deadline when the SBA determines the late filing resulted from causes essentially beyond your control.
