Resources for homeowners who need repairs due to damage from Hurricane Helene

A. Hillsborough County Disaster Declaration Permitting

Due to the impact of Hurricane Helene, some residential and commercial structures may be in need of minor repairs.

Florida Statute 553.7922 allows for communities to follow special processing procedures to expedite permitting for these repairs.

B. Owner Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Program

Applications for income eligible homeowners who have experienced roof damages resulting from Hurricane Helene and require any of the following:

  • Roof repair or replacements
  • Safety repairs of all structural items
  • Replacement of major systems such as HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
