This annual week is designated to highlight the services and programs that help meet the needs and enhance the lives of adults with dementia or other cognitive impairments. The celebration features demonstrations, resources, and activities at all four Adult Day Care Centers.

All events are open to county residents, enrolled clients, and caregivers.

Check out these educational opportunities and chances to visit during open houses at some of our centers.

Fall Prevention Education

  • When: Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 10 AM to noon
  • Where: Concurrent at all four Adult Day Centers
  • Highlights include fall prevention exercises, proper use of durable medical equipment, and blood pressure and glucose screenings
  • Learn about the comprehensive health, social, supportive, and therapeutic services offered for older adults during open house events at two centers

Open houses

  • Wimauma Senior Center
    • When: Thursday, Sept. 19 from 11 AM to 2 PM
    • Visit the newest Adult Day Care Center and learn about the services and resources available to keep your loved one mentally and physically engaged
  • Plant City
    • When: Friday, Sept. 20 from 11 AM to 2 PM
    • See what’s new at this Adult Day Care Center, where there’s always engaging programs inside and outside under the beautiful tree-canopied backyard
