What are greenways & trails?

Together, greenways and trails create a connected system that enhances mobility, promotes wellness, and protects the county’s natural resources.

  • Greenways are natural corridors that connect parks, neighborhoods, and conservation areas, often preserving wildlife habitats and open space
  • Trails, whether paved or unpaved, provide safe, accessible routes for walking, biking, and other recreational activities

Greenways & Trails Master Plan

Hillsborough County’s Greenways & Trails Master Plan serves as the long-term vision for expanding and improving the network. Originally developed in 1995 and updated through subsequent planning efforts, the plan identifies priority corridors, guides land acquisition, and shapes future trail development.
