After-school programs take place at recreation centers around the county, including Adaptive Recreation sites

You can register your child for the traditional after-school program or the adaptive recreation program for kids with special needs.

After-school programs include the following:

  • Indoor and outdoor active games
  • Athletic leagues to include flag football, soccer, and basketball
  • Character-building program

Fees

  • $60 every two weeks - Full rate
    • After-school program payments are due on a biweekly basis. Each payment covers the cost of the entire two-week session and cannot be pro-rated. Payments must be made prior to the child’s attendance in the session.

After-school care takes place at recreation centers around the county for grades K-8. Find registration and capacity status information.

Benefits

  • We provide general after-school programs for children in grades K-8 at various recreation centers around the County
  • We also offer an adaptive program called Adaptive Recreation for those with disabilities, as well as an inclusion program at select sites
  • All programs follow the Hillsborough County School District calendar
  • The programs are also available for the following Camp Days:
    • Early release days
    • Non-student/teacher planning days
    • Fall, winter, and spring breaks

Things to consider

  • The fee is due at registration
  • Camp Days (single days of camp) are included with enrollment and participation
  • Camp Weeks (Fall, Winter, and Spring breaks) are an additional enrollment
    • November 25 – 27, 2024 (Fall Break Camp)
    • December 23 – 27, 2024 (Winter Break Camp 1)
    • December 30, 2024 – January 3, 2025 (Winter Break Camp 2)
    • March 17 – 21, 2025 (Spring Break Camp)

  1. Sign into your online parks and recreation account
  2. Go to the After school and camp page and choose the appropriate category you want to register for
    • For Camp Days and Weeks, click the page numbers to see all the various locations and options available
  3. Select your location and the type of program
  4. Complete registration
