Residential customers using the Southeast County Landfill will pay a commercial per ton rate 

Beginning June 1, 2026, customers who dispose of trash and tires at the Southeast County Landfill (15960 County Road 672, Lithia, FL 33547) must pay the commercial per ton disposal fee. Residential customers can no longer use their property tax bill to dispose of trash and tires at the landfill.  

What is the cost to dispose at the landfill? 

After June 1, residents will be required to pay the commercial per ton disposal fee of $104 per ton (check the Trash Fees page for the most up to date fee). Each transaction is based on the net weight multiplied by $104 per ton. Cash and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express) are accepted for payment. 

Example: The fee to dispose of 300 pounds of garbage is $15.60. 

Tire disposal costs 

  • Passenger tires - $249 per ton OR $12 each 
  • Tires with rims - $261 per ton OR $27 each 
  • Semi-truck, oversized tires, and off-road tires - $249 per ton OR $22 each 

Know before you go to the landfill

Residents are required to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) before disposing at the landfill, including a hard hat, high visibility shirt or safety vest, and closed-toed shoes. 

Where can residents go for disposal using their property tax bill? 

Residential solid waste customers can continue to use their property tax bill showing their solid waste assessment for their limited disposal allowance at the  County's five Community Collection Centers (CCCs). Only passenger car tires are accepted at the CCCs (with or without rims).  CCCs are open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 AM to 5 PM.
