Hillsborough County Offices and Most Facilities to Close for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Jan. 17, 2025) - Most Hillsborough County offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday.

There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste collections on Jan. 20 in the unincorporated Hillsborough County Solid Waste Service Area, which includes Tampa Palms, Hunter's Green, and New Tampa.  If your collection day for garbage, recycling, or yard waste falls on this holiday, services will resume on your next regularly scheduled collection day. There are no holiday make-up collections.

• Carrollwood Village Park open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Dog parks open from sunrise to sunset  
• Splash pads open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 
• Skate parks open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
