Hillsborough County, Fla. (Dec. 27, 2024) - Hillsborough County offices and many public facilities will be closed for the New Year's Day holiday. Solid Waste will collect garbage, yard waste and recycling, and all Solid Waste facilities will be open on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
On New Year's Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, there will be recycling and yard waste collection for Hillsborough County Solid Waste customers whose collection day falls on Wednesday. However, there will be no regular garbage collection. If your garbage collection falls on the holiday, service will resume on the next regularly scheduled collection day. There are no holiday make-up days for garbage collection. Regular garbage collection will resume Thursday, Jan. 2.
Disposal sites, including the community collection centers, yard and wood waste processing facilities, transfer stations, the Resource Recovery Facility, and the Southeast County Landfill, will be closed on Jan. 1.

- The administrative offices of County government

- All Tampa-Hillsborough County public libraries are open until 6 p.m.
- Recreation Centers are open until 6 p.m.
- Carrollwood Village Park is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Splash pads are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Skate parks are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Dog parks are open from sunrise to sunset.

- There will be no regular trash collection. There will be recycling and yard waste collections for Hillsborough County Solid Waste customers whose pickup day falls on Wednesday. If your trash collection date falls on the holiday, services will resume on the next regularly scheduled collection day. The regular collection schedule will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2. There are no holiday make-up days for collection.

- Regular garbage collection schedule will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2. There are no holiday make-up days for collection.
Curbside pickup of live Christmas trees is available by taking these steps:
- Remove all decorations, lights, and tinsel
- Cut the tree into sections no larger than 4-feet long and 6-inches in diameter
- Place curbside on your regular yard waste collection day
- Drop off live trees at one of the following Yard Waste Processing Facilities, after removing all decorations, lights, and tinsel:

- Business Resource and Assessment Center (BRAC) at Hillsborough County Entrepreneur Collaborative Center (ECC), 2101 E. Palm Ave., Tampa, FL 33605: Closes at 1 p.m. Dec. 31, and will be closed on Jan. 1.
- Disaster Recovery Center at the City Center at Hanna Avenue, 2555 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, FL 33610: Closes at noon Dec. 31, and will be closed on Jan. 1.
Holiday Hours for Storm Debris Collection and Drop-off
- There will be no storm debris curbside collection on Jan.1. Storm debris curbside collection will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2.
- All storm debris sites will be closed on Jan. 1 and will reopen at 7 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2.
