All dog trainers who provide services in Hillsborough County must register with Animal Control
Overview
If you are an individual dog trainer, you are required to register before beginning to offer your services in Hillsborough County.
Things to know
- No fee is charged to register
- You must sign and notarize the form before submitting it to Animal Control
- Registration is valid for 24 months and must be renewed every 24 months
- Read the Truth-in-Training ordinance on Municode

What's next?
- Dog trainers may provide services upon submission of the registration
- Proof of registration submission may be required if requested by an animal control officer or other agent of the County
- If the applicant receives notice that the registration has been rejected, the dog trainer must cease providing dog-training services until such time a registration has been approved
