Deadline is Feb. 15, 2025, to submit water conservation poster
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Dec. 19, 2024) - Looking for a meaningful student project this holiday season?
Hillsborough County Water Resources and the City of Tampa are sponsoring and encouraging students from kindergarten through 12th grade to enter the Drop Savers Water Conservation Poster Contest.
To enter, students must create a poster depicting a water conservation idea, slogan, or drawing. The goal is to educate and raise awareness about water conservation.
The poster must be drawn on 8 ½ x 11-inch white paper, and the drawing could be vertical or horizontal. Students may use crayons, paint, color pencils, or markers. No highlighters, photos, or computer graphics are permitted.
The divisions are:
- Division 1 (Grades kindergarten and first)
- Division 2 (Grades second and third)
- Division 3 (Grades fourth and fifth)
- Division 4 (Grades sixth, seventh, and eighth)
- Division 5 (Grades ninth, 10th, 11th, and 12th)
Schools can only submit one winning poster for each division. Visit HCFL.gov/DropSavers to see the rules, the steps on how to submit the poster, and view the past winning posters. The deadline is Feb. 15, 2025.
The first-place winners will win a custom jigsaw puzzle with the winner's poster design, posters of their artwork, a water conservation kit, a state park prize package, reusable water bottles imprinted with their artwork for the student and the class, and advancement to compete in the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association statewide poster contest, which offers additional prizes for the winners.
First-, second-, and third-place winners in Hillsborough County will all receive an invitation to be honored at a Hillsborough County School Board meeting, a certificate of recognition and appreciation, an online display of the winning artwork, and potential media recognition.
