Job overview

Performs specialized professional level work developing, organizing, administering, and evaluating assigned emergency management programs and functions. Provides support and technical expertise to other program staff, other departments, the community and Emergency Management Program (EMP) participants. Supports response and recovery functions in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when emergencies impact the community. May serve as the County's representative/liaison to a variety of federal, state, regional, and local agencies associated with emergency management.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Requisition, account for and maintain inventory records of on-hand, incoming and outgoing stock, shipments involving inventory
  • Confer or correspond with establishment, department, or agency representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate supply chain, storage, or distribution activities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable government laws or regulations

$51,313 - $66,705

Minimum qualifications

  • Associate's degree in emergency management or a directly related field; AND
  • Two years of directly related experience in emergency management, public safety, emergency preparedness, or related field; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education (not less than possession of a high school diploma/GED), training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above; AND
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License; AND
  • Completed Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 courses; or completion within six (6) months of employment
