2024 marks the 10th year of the animal adoption campaign

As if meeting your new best friend wasn't enough of a win, Hillsborough County's Pet Resource Center (PRC) is sweetening the deal Aug. 10-Sept. 10 during the annual Clear the Shelters promotion. When you adopt a pet at PRC during this time, you will receive a free goodie bag filled with a leash, treats, litter scoop, dog waste bags, and coupons for food, pet items, grooming, and more (while supplies last). All dog and cat adoption fees are currently waived, meaning you can add Fido or Fluffy to your family for no upfront cost!

Help empty a kennel like this one after the Mega Adoption event in May!

With over 400 cats and dogs currently at the shelter, PRC is over capacity and is inviting residents to help these very deserving animals find permanent homes. Check out the online kennel to see if any of the adoptables are the right fit for you and your family, then stop by PRC Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to meet them. There you'll find Kayin, an energetic and playful seven-year-old with a reputation for her loving personality, her snorting, and the way she loves to play in the sun. For a more timid companion, Eve is a shy girl who is becoming a loyal companion to her foster parent. She loves a good garden walk/play session and is a great cuddler. Looking for a feline friend? Ham is an independent kitty who loves his treats. He is incredibly sweet and enjoys being petted after he gets comfortable in his surroundings.
