Hillsborough County Offices and Most Facilities to Close for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Jan. 12, 2024) - Most Hillsborough County offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday.

There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste collections on Jan. 15 in the unincorporated Hillsborough County Solid Waste Service Area, which includes Tampa Palms, Hunter's Green, and New Tampa. If your collection day for garbage, recycling, or yard waste falls on this holiday, services will resume on your next regularly scheduled collection day. There are no holiday make-up collections.
CLOSED on Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

• Disposal sites (community collection centers, yard and wood waste processing facilities, transfer stations, the Resource Recovery Facility, and Southeast County Landfill)

• All Hillsborough County offices and facilities

• All libraries in the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative

• The Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center

• Hillsborough County's Customer Service Center at (813) 272-5900

• Emergency calls regarding County water and wastewater service may be directed to (813) 744-5600.

• A limited number of Animal Control officers will be on call for emergencies only.

• Carrollwood Village Park open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• Dog parks open from sunrise to sunset

• Staffed splash pads open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Staffed skate parks open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
