See the County roads to be resurfaced from transportation surtax reallocation

In November 2018, Hillsborough County voters approved a privately initiated 1% sales tax increase, known as the All for Transportation surtax. As a result of the tax, $569.8 million was collected from Jan. 1, 2019 to February 2021 before the Florida Supreme Court ruled the surtax unconstitutional. The funds collected were subsequently held by the Florida Department of Revenue. In 2023, the state approved a plan to refund the collected tax revenue to eligible taxpayers and Hillsborough County.

During the 2024 legislative session, $256.4 million was allocated to local agencies, including Hillsborough County, specifically for resurfacing projects. The legislation identified 203 road resurfacing projects throughout the county totaling 259 miles.

Below is a map to identify surtax-funded resurfacing projects across the county.
