Project description and current status

Project Description

This project is part of the Neighborhood Drainage Improvements Program. The west side of Orange Grove Drive, from the southern Juniperus Place intersection to Valencia Road, experiences frequent stormwater inundation during the rainy season, causing pavement and curb deterioration.

Planned improvements include:

  • 477 feet of new Miami curb and replacement/restoration of two valley gutter roadway crossings
  • 168 feet of new 15-inch reinforced concrete pipe (or elliptical equivalent)
  • Two new inlets and replacement of one inlet
  • Restoration of impacted sidewalks and three driveways
  • Pavement resurfacing and restoration

Community Impacts

The project is expected to take less than 120 days, with work being conducted between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. During construction, single-lane closures will be necessary on Orange Grove Drive. If a temporary road closure of Orange Grove Drive is necessary, detour routes will be clearly marked to get around the closure. Hillsborough County Public Works has coordinated with Hillsborough County Water Resources to minimize any disruption of water service and ensure that affected residents are notified if any boil-water procedures are necessary.

If residents experience disruptions to communications, such as internet, cable, or landline telephone, contact the service provider to report the issue.

Current Phase

The project is currently in the Construction Phase.

Funding
