Intersection improvements information

Project description

Design and construct safety and capacity improvements to the intersection of County Road 39 and Lithia Pinecrest Road. The preliminary design includes left turn lanes in all directions along with a dedicated northbound right turn lane. Substantial safety enhancements are also proposed including:

  • New special emphasis crosswalks on each leg
  • Channelizing islands to provide pedestrian refuge
  • New pedestrian signals with sidewalk landings on each corner
  • Also included is a new 8-foot sidewalk along Pinecrest Elementary School's boundaries and on the southeast side of the intersection
  • Upgrade drainage and add stormwater pond to accommodate additional pavement for turn lanes, bicycle lanes, traffic separators, sidewalks, and curb and gutter

Current phase

The project is currently in the preliminary design phase. Future phases including design, land acquisition, and construction are not yet scheduled.

Project Development (Planning) Completion - Early 2026

Funding

The Design and Land phases are funded by Mobility Fee.
