Shine a light on your neighborhood's programs, projects, or events
Calling all healthy, safe, and engaged neighborhoods! Applications are now open for the 2026 Hillsborough County Neighborhood Awards. Whether your community created a nature trail, hosted a food donation drive, or held a swim safety class, now's your chance to be recognized for making a difference.
The Neighborhood Awards celebrate exceptional neighborhood programs, projects, and events that took place in unincorporated Hillsborough County between July 2025 and June 2026. Nominations are being accepted in three categories:
- Healthy - Promoting conservation, environmental stewardship, or healthy living
- Safe - Enhancing safety or boosting disaster preparedness
- Engaged - Building community spirit through volunteerism or communication

Eligible neighborhood groups must be listed in the Hillsborough County Neighborhood Listing. Neighborhoods may submit one application and select any or all categories that apply. Applications are due by 5 p.m Friday, Sept. 11. Award winners will be notified in late September, and one outstanding category winner will be honored as the 2026 Neighborhood of the Year and receive a $500 check for their neighborhood.
