Open registration for the popular Hillsborough County camps begins at noon Saturday, April 4
Hillsborough County, Fla. (April 2, 2026) - Want to keep your kids active and engaged over their summer break? Hillsborough County's popular and affordable summer camps offer hours of indoor and outdoor games and a variety of recreational and team-building activities.
Open registration for traditional summer camps begins at noon Saturday, April 4. Camps are offered for kids ages 6-12, and from 12-15, and adaptive recreation for kids ages 5-18. The camps are open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, from June 9 to Aug. 8.
Children can learn, play, and grow in a safe and supervised environment as they explore new places and activities with their peers. The camps offer arts and crafts, sports, and other recreational activities to keep kids entertained and physically active.
The combination of supervised activities, affordable rates, and attractive schedule have created heavy demand, and the camps fill up quickly each year, sometimes within minutes of the opening of registration.
For traditional, teen, and adaptive camps, the rates are $120 for the four-week Session 1 and $150 for the five-week Session 2. For more information, including how to register, visit HCFL.gov/SummerCamp.
Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation also has several specialty camps, some of which have different rates.
Skate Camp is designed for first-timers, beginners, and intermediate skaters ages 7-12, and covers everything from equipment and terminology to etiquette and basic maneuvers. The camp also includes field trips, other popular sports, arts and crafts, reading, and other activities.
Eco-Adventure Camp is for those who can't wait to explore, investigate, and play outdoors. The camp is perfect for children ages 9-15 who love to learn more about nature and the world around them in a fun environment.
Adaptive Summer Camp provides a unique and empowering experience for persons with disabilities. Kids and teens can interact and learn in a traditional recreational setting with a 1-to-6 staff-to-student ratio. From tailored outdoor activities to inclusive team sports and creative arts, Adaptive Summer Camp ensures every camper can thrive and enjoy the best of summer.
Teen Camp is tailored for teens who want a mix of high-energy activities, a chance to unwind, and opportunities to connect with friends. The camp offers on-site speakers, creative activities, sports, and team-building games and adventures.
Encore! Camp allows participants to dive into acting, dancing, singing, and even a stage makeup class to unleash their full theatrical potential. Campers get backstage access at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center, giving them a firsthand look at what goes on behind the curtain.
