Collection of garbage, recyclables and yard waste on normal schedule

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Nov. 6, 2025) - Hillsborough County offices and most facilities will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

Collection of garbage, recyclables, and yard waste remains on a normal Tuesday schedule in the unincorporated Hillsborough County Solid Waste service area, which includes Tampa Palms, Hunter's Green, and New Tampa. All disposal facilities will be open, including the Southeast County Landfill, Northwest and South County transfer stations, Resource Recovery Facility, community collection centers, and yard waste processing facilities.

CLOSED on Nov. 11:

  • Administrative offices of County government  
  • Hillsborough County's main Customer Service Center at (813) 272-5900 
  • All libraries in the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative  
  • Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation recreational centers and programs offered at the facilities, including the Skyway Sports Complex and the SouthShore Sportsplex
  • Hillsborough County Aging Services facilities, including Adult Day Services Centers, Senior Centers, Senior Dining & Activity Centers, and all affiliated programming
  • Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center  
  • Sunshine Line transportation service  
  • The Water Resources Customer Service Center in Brandon. Emergency calls regarding County water and wastewater service may be made to (813) 744-5600.

OPEN on Nov. 11:

  • Hillsborough County Consumer & Veterans Services and the Veterans Council of Hillsborough County will host the 61st Annual Veterans Day Tribute at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park & Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum, 3602 N. U.S. 301, Tampa, FL 33619.   
  • All disposal facilities, including the Southeast County Landfill, Northwest and South County transfer stations, Resource Recovery Facility, community collection centers, and yard waste processing facilities.
  • All parks, including dog parks, skate parks, conservation parks, nature preserves, trails, splash pads, and boat ramps. Skate parks will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • A limited number of Animal Safety and Code Enforcement officers will be on call for emergencies only. The emergency telephone number is (813) 744-5660.
