Help prevent street flooding in your neighborhood, as well as damage to homes and properties
When storm drains become clogged, water can pool and create significant flooding damage to surrounding buildings and landscapes.
This excess water can lead to street flooding and soil erosion, harm home foundations, and attract pests if stagnant water lingers for too long.
Reporting drainage problems
You can report blocked storm drains online via At Your Service.
At Your Service allows you to make Hillsborough County online service requests 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week.
You can also call the Hillsborough County Public Works department at (813) 635-5400 to report blocked storm drains.
Prevent street flooding before it rains
Severe storms aren't the only times dangerous water can collect. Even small amounts of rain can cause standing water in streets, ditches, yards, and low-lying areas.
Here's how you can help prevent street flooding and protect property:
- Clear debris from storm drains. Remove leaves, trash, and other debris from curbside inlets and nearby drains. Never pour paint or concrete into storm drains.
- Trim overgrown trees and shrubs. This prevents excess leaves and branches from entering storm drains during heavy winds and storms.
- Do not use leaf blowers to blow debris into the street.
- Report blocked drains before it rains. If you notice a storm drain that's clogged or not draining properly, report it online via At Your Service or call (813) 635-5400.
Proactive steps today can help reduce flooding in your neighborhood and keep Hillsborough County safe and storm-ready.
