Hillsborough planners are updating the Riverview Community Plan - share your feedback through two quick surveys

The Riverview Community Plan was created in 2005 with a series of goals and strategies to enhance community character, promote a town center and economic development, protect the area's culture and history, outline design standards, boost transportation, and enrich the Alafia River's economic and recreational opportunities. A lot has happened since then, and it's time to update the 20-year-old plan.

To get started, the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners requested a study to evaluate the current Riverview Plan, develop new strategies or change existing ones, and assess overall mobility options in the area.

Take the Riverview Community Plan surveys

Both surveys are open until July 15, 2025.

Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA)

The Riverview Plan update is conducted in conjunction with a separate second study, hosted by the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA), which will assess an extension of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway on U.S. Highway 301 to Big Bend Road. The study will identify needs, evaluate alternatives, and develop recommendations to alleviate congestion on U.S. 301, Interstate 75, local arterial roads, and multiple U.S. 301 intersections. Both studies feature surveys to gather input from local stakeholders.
