Hillsborough County, Fla. (Dec. 20, 2024) - Hillsborough County offices and many public facilities will be closed during the Christmas holiday. Below is a list of the County offices and facilities that will be closed and open, as well as holiday hours for storm recovery resources, curbside debris collection and debris drop-off sites.
There will be no garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. Hillsborough County will offer regular collection service on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 26. Solid Waste facilities will close at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, and reopen regular hours on Thursday, Dec. 26.

- All Conservation Parks close early at 2 p.m.
- All Nature Preserves and Pebble Park

- Carrollwood Village Park is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- All staffed splash pad sites are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Staffed skate parks are open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- County dog parks are open from sunrise to sunset.

- There will be no garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections. The regular collection schedule will resume on Thursday, Dec. 26. There are no holiday make-up days for collection. If your collection date falls on a holiday, services will resume on the next regularly scheduled collection day.

Holiday Hours for Storm Recovery Resources
- Multi-Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) at Bloomingdale Regional Public Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico, FL 33596, and Gandy Boat Ramp, 5108 W. Gandy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33611: Closed on Dec. 24 and 25
- Business Resource and Assessment Center (BRAC) at Hillsborough County Entrepreneur Collaborative Center (ECC), 2101 E. Palm Ave., Tampa, FL 33605: Closed on Dec. 24 and 25
Holiday Hours for Storm Debris Collection and Drop-off
There will be no storm debris curbside collection on Dec. 24 and 25. Storm debris curbside collection will resume on Dec. 26.
Residents may continue to bring their storm debris to two temporary debris sites that will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 24. The facilities will close on Dec. 25, and will reopen at 7 a.m. Dec. 26 and continue 24-hour operations at both locations.
The two temporary debris sites are:
- Resource Recovery Facility, 350 N. Falkenburg Rd., Tampa, FL 33619
- Hillsborough Heights Temporary Debris Site, 6209 County Road 579, Seffner, FL 33584
Residents may also continue to bring their storm debris to three Hillsborough County Collection Facilities that will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 24, Closed Christmas Day, and open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Dec. 26.
The three Hillsborough County Collection Facilities are:

- Northwest County Solid Waste Facility, 8001 W. Linebaugh Ave., Tampa, FL 33625
- South County Solid Waste Facility, 13000 U.S. 41, Gibsonton, FL 33534
The following temporary debris sites will permanently close at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21:
- Lake Park, 17302 N. Dale Mabry Hwy., Lutz, FL 33548
- Valrico Spray Fields, 14039 Sydney Rd., Valrico, FL 33527
- SE County Landfill, 15960 County Road 672, Lithia, FL 33547
Curbside pickup of live Christmas trees is available by following these steps:
- Remove all decorations, lights, and tinsel
- Cut the tree into sections no larger than 4-feet long and 6-inches in diameter
- Place curbside on your regular yard waste collection day
Drop off live trees at one of the following yard waste processing facilities, after removing all decorations, lights, and tinsel:

After Christmas Day, the two locations are open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
