Hillsborough County is making sandbags available on Saturday from 8 AM – 5 PM at three locations:See the locations

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2024) - Hillsborough County will open a third sandbag operation site on Saturday at Larry Sanders Progress Village Sports Complex located at 5855 S. 78th Street Tampa, FL 33619. This is in addition to the two sites announced earlier today as residents prepare for potential heavy rain in the coming days.

The following sandbag operation sites will be open, weather permitting, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 5:

  • E.G. Simmons Conservation Park, 2401 19th Ave. NW, Ruskin, FL 33570 (Park will be closed to the public on Saturday)
  • Ed Radice Sports Complex, 14720 Ed Radice Drive, Tampa, FL 33626 (Park will remain open to the public on Saturday)
  • Larry Sanders Progress Village Sports Complex, 5855 S. 78th Street Tampa, FL 33619 (Park will remain open to the public on Saturday)

Hillsborough County residents are eligible for a maximum of 10 sandbags per vehicle. Residents must show ID verifying they live in the county; a driver's license or utility bill will serve as proper identification. Residents should be prepared to fill their own sandbags.
