Residents can provide feedback on the proposed assessment until Aug. 21, 2024

Hillsborough County is extending the opportunity for residents to provide feedback on the proposed solid waste collection services assessment. In addition to the Aug. 7, 2024, regularly scheduled public hearing, residents can also provide public comment at the Aug. 21, 2024, Board meeting. Public Hearings begin at 10 a.m. Residents can speak virtually or in person. In addition, comments can be provided via email or phone.

The County collects a one-time annual assessment that funds the collection, disposal, and management of solid waste in the county. The assessment typically covers services such as curbside garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection.

Proposed Solid Waste Assessments for 2025

The assessment is not part of your property tax but rather a separate assessment that covers the cost of providing services from Oct. 1, 2024 - Sept. 30, 2025.

The 2025 proposed Collection assessment is $297.70 per unit, an increase of $12.82.

The 2025 proposed Disposal assessment is $180.19 per unit, an increase of $27.56.
