Steps to take to convey real property interests to Hillsborough County
PLEASE DO NOT RECORD ANY INSTRUMENTS IN FAVOR OF HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY AS THIS CAN DELAY PROCESSING
If you are developing your property, you may be required to convey real property interests to Hillsborough County, such as sidewalk easements, deeds for right-of-way, utility easements, drainage easements, etc.
How it works
All real property interests that need to be conveyed to Hillsborough County must go through a formal review and acceptance process conducted by the Real Estate staff. Please follow the steps listed below.
Steps to convey
- Download and follow the instructions in the Requirements for Conveyances of Real Property Interests
- Download and complete the Real Estate Conveyance Submittal Form
- Download and give a copy of the Surveyor Checklist to your surveyor
- Download and give a copy of the Title Company Checklist to your title company
- Once your instrument(s) have been reviewed and accepted, Real Estate staff will record the instrument(s) in the public records and will provide you a copy
This process typically takes approximately 3-6 months to complete, however it is highly dependent upon the quality of the package submitted
