Where should I place my storm debris for pickup?

Construction and demolition debris yard and waste or vegetative debris should be placed curbside without blocking driveways or storm drains and separated as follows:

Yard waste (branches, logs, trees, leaves and small twigs) should be bagged or or placed in a container for collection by your regular weekly yard waste hauler and must meet regular weekly collection requirements
Larger piles of debris (construction, demolition, vegetative) will be collected by the disaster debris contractors

When will my yard waste be picked up?

Regular yard waste collectors will only pick up yard waste that is in bags or containers. Bagged yard waste will be picked up on your scheduled weekly collection day.

Expect delays due to increased volume. The disaster debris contractors will collect large piles of tree debris and should be left curbside until picked up.

Why hasn’t my storm debris been picked up?

Our debris collection crews are working tirelessly to clear over 3,000 linear miles of roadways across Hillsborough County. Several factors may cause a delay in picking up debris including the size of debris piles in your neighborhood, low-hanging trees or power lines near the debris pile, as these hazards prevent safe access for the trucks. In such cases, specialized equipment is used to move the pile to a safer location for collection. While every effort is made to collect debris from each address, some locations may have been inadvertently missed.

If your debris has not yet been collected, please leave it curbside and email debrisremoval@HCFL.gov. In the email, please provide your name, address, contact information and the type debris that is at your curbside. Residents will receive an email confirmation from the County.

The County is planning a final debris pass starting on December 9.

Where can I take yard waste for disposal if I don’t want to wait for my weekly curbside collection or the debris contractor pickup?

No. Any bagged yard waste will need to be emptied, and you will need to take the bags.

Please be patient with curbside yard waste collection. If your bagged yard waste is missed, please review standard yard waste collection guidelines. Report a missed pickup online or wait until the following week for your next scheduled collection.

Drywall, flooring, fencing, furniture, and empty appliances. It does not include electronics or household hazardous waste such as paint and chemicals.
