Hillsborough County, Fla. (Aug. 13, 2026) - The weather is scorching but a cool time awaits pet lovers at the Splish Splash Adoption Bash at Hillsborough County's Pet Resource Center on Saturday, Aug. 15.
The day of fun will feature splash pads, ice treats, food trucks, and more from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pet Resource Center, 440 N. Falkenburg Rd., Tampa, FL 33619. There will be pet enrichment activities, adoptable dog playgroups, and swag bags for adopters (as supplies last). All adoption fees will be waived.
The Pet Resource Center is currently well above capacity at almost 300 dogs and more than 150 cats. The pets need adopters to give them a forever home, or foster parents who can look after them for shorter periods.
The Pet Resource Center, 440 N. Falkenburg Rd., Tampa, FL 33619, is Hillsborough County's only open-admissions shelter. It accepts all dogs or cats regardless of age, breed, size, or medical condition. Residents can view adoptable pets at HCFL.gov/Adopt.
