Hands-on tour showcases modern farming, agribusiness innovation, and careers for active-duty service members, veterans, and their families
Hillsborough County, Fla. (April 1, 2026) - Active-duty military, veterans, and their spouses will step into the future of farming during the 11th Annual Military Agriculture Tour, a full-day immersive experience hosted by UF/IFAS Extension Hillsborough County. The tour introduces participants to the wide range of agricultural operations thriving in Hillsborough County and highlights meaningful career opportunities in one of the region's most essential industries.
Participants will travel across the county visiting a diverse mix of agricultural sites, including a tropical aquaculture operation, a large-scale agritourism destination, a farm equipment dealership, a leading agricultural research center, and a family-run farm. Throughout the day, attendees will meet industry professionals, see cutting-edge technology in action, and gain insight into how modern agriculture blends innovation, sustainability, and business development.
The Military Agriculture Tour plays a critical role in helping service members successfully transition to civilian careers by connecting them with stable, in-demand jobs in agriculture.
