Hillsborough County 4‑H is hosting an Open House on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, offering families a first-hand look at the variety of youth opportunities the program offers beyond traditional livestock projects that many think of when they hear "4-H".

The event is free to attend and will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. Hwy. 301 N., Tampa, FL 33610. Activities will be held in the Ag Hall of Fame Building.

4‑H members and volunteers will lead hands-on activities throughout the event and provide information on what 4-H is all about and how to register. The 4-H program is open to youth ages 5-18 and offers project areas that include leadership and citizenship, livestock, plants, insects, STEM, robotics, poultry, photography, public speaking, and more.

By participating in 4‑H activities, children not only develop practical skills while building self-confidence, but also cultivate leadership and communication skills. The Open House provides families a clear view of how 4‑H engages youth in STEM, creative arts, and community leadership, in addition to traditional agriculture.

Families interested in joining 4‑H can use this event to connect directly with club leaders and volunteers, learn about the benefits of membership, and begin their enrollment process. Enrollment details and resources are available on the Hillsborough 4‑H Families webpage.
