Family-friendly event showcases the benefits of prescribed fire and land management

Hillsborough County Conservation & Environmental Lands Management is hosting a day of fun where science and safety come together at the 2026 Prescribed Fire Fest. This free, family-friendly event takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Edward Medard Conservation Park, 6140 Turkey Creek Rd., Plant City, FL 33567.

Prescribed fires are a vital tool for maintaining healthy ecosystems and reducing the risk of wildfires. At Prescribed Fire Fest, attendees will learn how professionals use fire strategically to protect Florida's natural lands while enjoying interactive activities for all ages.
