Turn a podcast idea into a business at the ECC
For residents interested in taking their podcast beyond a creative project, Hillsborough County's Entrepreneur Collaborative Center (ECC) offers residents the opportunity to learn about the business side of podcasting.
Located in historic Ybor City, the ECC connects entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners with training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and business service providers. Operated by Hillsborough County's Economic Development department, the center supports businesses at various stages, from early ideas to established operations.
Through workshops and events such as Local Stories Live, aspiring podcasters can learn from professionals who have experience building audiences and developing successful podcasts. The October meeting featured discussions about the challenges and opportunities of podcasting, with panelists sharing practical insight into branding, production, marketing, and monetization. Attendees hear firsthand lessons from industry professionals and learn strategies they can apply on their own projects.
