Creating joyful memories for those who need them most
Youth in temporary respite care with Hillsborough County Children's Services recently enjoyed a special summer outing thanks to a generous donation and the County's ongoing commitment to life-enrichment activities.
Beaming with team spirit and decked out in red, black, and white - official colors of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Football League team - students and staff had a blast soaking up summer sun in sideline seats as they watched players scrimmage up close. The unforgettable experience included giveaways, autographs, and the chance to cheer on their hometown team as players prepared for a promising season.
More than just a fun outing
Outings like these are more than just fun. They are part of Children's Services' dedicated effort to providing life-enrichment opportunities that help children in their care feel supported, inspired, and connected to their community. Whether it's educational opportunities, theater nights, or community events, experiences like these are powerful reminders that even during uncertain times, every child deserves moments of joy and inspiration.
Help for kids in need
Hillsborough County Children's Services provides 24-hour residential respite and emergency shelter programs for children ages 10-17 who need safe shelter, structure, and support. Staff help youth build life skills, access education, and work toward family reunification or long-term stability. The department also connects families to community-based services that help prevent problems before they become emergencies.
To help staff continue creating meaningful memories for children who need them most, consider donating to Children's Services. Donations are needed year-round and can include financial support, time, talents, and items such as tickets, electronics, or luggage through the Duffels of Dignity program.
