Free and convenient resources are available to help students excel academically all year
Start the new school year with confidence and support from the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative (HCPLC).
Many free resources are available to help students succeed, regardless of grade level.
It should be noted that most of these resources require users to log into the library using their library card. It’s easy to apply for a library card online.
Below are just a few of the resources available to students and parents.
- Brainfuse HelpNow: Tutoring services designed for a wide range of academic needs including homework help, study skills, and writing papers. Available online seven days a week.
- World Book Encyclopedia: A collection of encyclopedic resources including World Book, World Book for Kids, World Book Discover, and Timelines
- Libby: Borrow e-books, audiobooks, magazines, and more for free from your local library with Libby, the library reading app
- Mango Languages: A personalized language-learning system that provides interactive lessons focusing on practical conversations and cultural context for over 70 languages and 20 ESL courses
- Hoopla: A digital media service that allows users to stream and download movies, television, audiobooks, music, eBooks, and comics
- Digital Newspapers and Magazines: Digital access to past and current issues of many publications. Browse or search The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, National Geographic, and many more.
- Laptops available to borrow: Visitors can use their library card to check out a laptop for use while in the library. Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
