Hillsborough County, Fla. (July 7, 2025) - Hillsborough is a fast-growing county with a population approaching 1.59 million this year, and a Florida Department of Transportation estimate pushes it to 2.5 million by 2070.
The upcoming Corridor Preservation Plan Study will help the County keep up with growth by planning the location of future roadways to ensure the scale, location, and rights-of-way are adequate to serve the needs of Hillsborough residents. To do so, an update to the Corridor Preservation Plan (CPP), which is part of Hillsborough's Comprehensive Plan, is needed.
It has been 15 years since the last major update to the CPP. As land use patterns and travel habits constantly change, County planners want to ensure transportation is safe and efficient in Hillsborough for years to come.
Hillsborough County wants residents to be part of the conversation. This month, four meetings will be held countywide to explain the study, review objectives, and gather feedback.
