Hillsborough County, Fla. (May 14, 2025) – The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced that the Business Resource and Assessment Center (BRAC) in Hillsborough County that has offered local businesses hurricane recovery assistance will close at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) established the BRAC in Hillsborough County in October 2024 in response to Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton. The BRAC served more than 1,000 Hillsborough County residents, renters, and nonprofits.
The BRAC, located at the Hillsborough County Entrepreneur Collaborative Center (ECC), 2101 E. Palm Ave., Tampa, FL 33605, served as a one-stop-shop where businesses received technical and financial assistance to aid in hurricane recovery and learned how to become more resilient to future disasters. It offered SBA disaster loan programs, business mentoring, coaching, and funding strategies.
The SBA also partnered with the Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Hillsborough County and SCORE, a nonprofit business mentoring organization, to enhance the BRAC in Hillsborough. The SBA has loaned over $1.4 billion to help Florida residents, business owners, nonprofits, and renters affected by the storms.
