Chasing Championship No. 4, the Bolts are Ready for Battle!

The Bolts are back! It’s once again a battle of the Sunshine State as the Tampa Bay Lightning get ready to take on the defending champions, Florida Panthers, in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. 

The team has millions of dedicated fans in #Boltsborough cheering them on as they prepare for the post season. 

Let’s take a look back at the team’s incredible success over the last three decades: 

• 1992- The Tampa Bay Lightning enters the National Hockey League 
• October 1996 - First game ever played at AMALIE Arena, a 5-3 win over the New York Rangers 
• May 2004 - Lightning advance to the franchise's first-ever Stanley Cup Final with a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final 
• June 2004 – At just 12 years -old, the Tampa Bay Lightning win their first Stanley Cup championship  
• March 2011 - The Lightning clinch a playoff spot for the first time in four years with a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins 
• June 2015- The Lightning make it to the Stanley Cup Final for the second time in franchise history and lose in six games (4-2) to the Chicago Blackhawks 
• May 2018- The Lightning and Washington Capitals advance to the Eastern Conference Final and the Bolts lose in seven games (4-4) to Washington 
• September 2020 – Tampa Bay Lightning become Stanley Cup champions for a second time 
• July 2021 - Tampa Bay Lightning become Stanley Cup champions for a third time, and the first ever to win two Stanley Cups within one year
