Hillsborough County, Fla. (April 21, 2025) - Hillsborough County is seeking interested residents to serve on the CareerSource Hillsborough Pinellas Workforce Development Board.
This Board provides policy guidance and oversight for workforce development activities for CareerSource Florida Region 28 (Hillsborough County and Pinellas County) in partnership with the Hillsborough Pinellas Workforce Development Consortium (Consortium), including activities under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA); development of an annual budget subject to the approval of the Consortium; developing, ratifying and submitting or amending the local workforce plan subject to the approval of the Consortium; establishing and adopting policy for governance, administration and operation of CareerSource Hillsborough Pinellas (CSHP) budget, programs, administrative costs and performance outcomes; identifying and selecting providers of training services, intensive services, youth providers and One Stop Operators as necessary and applicable.
Meeting schedule: Bi-Monthly
Eight positions will expire on 6/30/2025. Positions will serve two-year terms ending 6/30/2027 and are specified as:
- Hillsborough County business sector, four representatives:
- Candidates must have optimum policymaking or hiring authority.
- Hillsborough County workforce sector, three representatives:
- Represent labor organizations, apprenticeship programs, and/or community-based organizations serving veterans, youth, individuals with barriers.
- Hillsborough County education and training sector, one representative:
- Represent entities administering adult education, higher education providing workforce investment activities, and/or private education providers.
Citizens appointed to this board will be required to file an annual financial disclosure.
All nominees must reside in and be registered voters in Hillsborough County. Appointments are voluntary positions; therefore, members serve without compensation. The membership of this Board is voted on by the Consortium.
