Explore the essential services that keep the County moving at Public Service Day
Hillsborough County residents are invited to get an inside look at the vital work of Public Works and Water Resources at Public Service Day, a special family-friendly event from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the County's West Service Unit, 9805 Sheldon Rd., Tampa, FL 33635.
This engaging event offers a unique opportunity for residents of all ages to learn about the essential services that keep Hillsborough County running smoothly. Attendees can explore heavy equipment displays, meet the dedicated teams behind roadway maintenance and water services, and enjoy hands-on activities that showcase how the County ensures clean, reliable water and safe, well-maintained roads.
From interactive demonstrations to educational exhibits, Public Service Day is designed to highlight the critical role Public Works and Water Resources play in County residents' everyday life. Families will also have the chance to engage with County staff.
Mosquito Management will be on hand to distribute free mosquitofish, which help reduce the mosquito population. In addition, the County's Human Resources team will attend to discuss the hiring process, and Parks & Recreation will provide fun games and entertainment for kids. There will be a bounce house, free hot dogs, and snow cones while supplies last.
