Group has taken audiences on culturally enriching journeys since the 1980s
African, Caribbean, and Black American artists have profound influences on the performing and visual arts. In Hillsborough County, Kuumba Dancers and Drummers have celebrated and shared traditional African art and culture since the 1980s.
They perform authentic dances from various regions of Africa that include music, singing, audience participation, and storytelling. This Black History Month, New Tampa Performing Arts Center (NTPAC) invites everyone to recognize and celebrate African art with Kuumba Dancers and Drummers. The group is performing two special shows on the NTPAC stage.
