Hurricane Milton Update No. 101

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Jan. 8, 2025) - Hillsborough County's 24-hour storm debris collection sites will end at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10. New operating hours will be Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This change comes as the County transitions to the final phases of its debris removal operations following Hurricane Milton. The County has collected more than 4.3 million cubic yards of debris, which is equivalent to filling Raymond James Stadium 10 times.
Residents who still need to dispose of storm debris including yard waste, furniture, construction debris, empty appliances, and non-hazardous waste like tires, electronics, and paint can do so at the following collection sites during regular operating hours, Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • Hillsborough Heights

  • Northwest Solid Waste Facility
    8001 W. Linebaugh Ave., Tampa, FL 33625
  • South County Solid Waste Facility
    13000 U.S. Hwy. 41, Gibsonton, FL 33534
  • Resource Recovery Facility
    350 N. Falkenburg Rd., Tampa, FL 33619

The following sites accept construction debris, furniture, empty appliances, and non-hazardous waste like tires, electronics, and paint, but do not accept yard waste. These sites are also open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

The final pass for curbside collection of storm debris remains ongoing with over 90% of the routes completed. Residents are encouraged to monitor the progress of curbside debris collection in their neighborhoods by using the Storm Debris Collection Lookup Tool available at HCFL.gov.
Hillsborough County residents have demonstrated a tremendous amount of patience and cooperation throughout the recovery process and have significantly contributed to the collection efforts.
