This is a professional and strategic job responsible for the overall infrastructure and solutions planning, designing, provisioning and configuration of the organization's information systems architecture. The Solutions Architect partners with multiple stakeholders in an organization to understand the various levels of requirements, the domain, the viable technologies, and anticipated development.
The Solutions Architect's work will include determining multiple design alternatives, assessing such alternatives based on all identified constraints, and selecting the most suitable options for further design or development. The incumbent in this job will provide supervision, coaching, and mentoring to subordinates. The Solutions Architect works independently, without supervision, and is a recognized master in professional discipline.
Ideal candidate
The Solutions Architect will be responsible for providing the overall guidance and structure for creating and maintaining the designs for the main services of Hillsborough County BOCC's Information and Innovation Office ensuring the required business outcomes are delivered. All designs created by the team should align to the architecture principles of ServiceNow and should be reusable, reliable, and adaptive.
This role requires a person passionate for solving challenging problems in ServiceNow across IT and non-IT teams. The ServiceNow Solutions Architect will oversee all architectural components for the ServiceNow system and will work on our most difficult issues extending the ServiceNow platform. The ServiceNow architect will consult with the platform owner and work with others on the team to help set strategic direction of the platform. Hillsborough County BOCC currently leverages the ServiceNow platform heavily for both IT and non-IT processes.
The architect will assist a development team, including consultants. Appropriate candidate will possess strong customer management skills, critical thinking, the ability to change direction with business needs, and at least 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow applications design and implementation of IT products like CSM, CMDB, Discovery, ITSM, SPM, ServiceNow Integrations, ITBM, ITAM/ITOM, Employee Center, HR Center Pro, BCM, and other modules/in as needed.
This role requires a person who can complete technical ServiceNow development and design, applicant should have extensive experience in REST API, Java Script, HTML, Script includes, Business Rules, Integration Hub, Employee Center, etc. This role also needs the ability or skill to write up user/support and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will / should also be able to convey ideas and lead design sessions.
