Take precautions and avoid floodwaters
Due to extreme rain in the area caused by Hurricane Debby, the National Weather Service continues to have flood warnings in place for several areas of Hillsborough County.
- Alafia River near Lithia Pinecrest Road
- Little Manatee River near Wimauma at U.S. 301
- Hillsborough River at Morris Bridge and Hillsborough River State Park
Though water is beginning to recede, please remember that when rivers rise, water tends to spread out far from riverbanks. Water that is only inches deep can be next to water that is several feet deep. Drive safely around storm debris, and never drive through floodwaters: Turn around; don’t drown.
