Community event is open to the public, offers an opportunity to showcase the programs and services

Hillsborough County, Fla. (April 25, 2024) - Hillsborough County Adult Day Services is celebrating caregivers and their loved ones with a Health and Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Bloomingdale Adult Day Center, 3940 Canoga Park Dr., Brandon, FL 33511.

The Health and Wellness Fair is free and open to the public. All the demonstrations and activities are geared to seniors and caregivers.

Scheduled activities include free health, memory, and vision screenings, podiatrist visit, blood pressure check, cooking demonstration, chair yoga, additional exercise demonstrations, and a presentation by a local professional on mindful meditation. There will also be a number of exhibitors presenting health information to clients and caregivers.

Hillsborough County Adult Day Services offers comprehensive health, social, supportive, and therapeutic services for functionally impaired seniors in a community-based setting. Adult Day Services has four locations in Hillsborough County, which include Tampa, Brandon, Plant City, and Wimauma. Each location is designed to help families whose loved ones wish to remain home as long as possible but often struggle providing care.

Adult Day Services are for Hillsborough County residents ages 60 and older who have decreased physical, mental, or social functions. Each center offers nurses who provide health monitoring and counseling, therapeutic activities, nutrition counseling, social work counseling, meals and snacks, and assistance with medication administration.
